  1. International Dance Day or World Dance Day is observed every year on 29 April, to celebrate dance and to increase awareness about its importance in diverse cultures and societies worldwide.
  2. IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub, a cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub, has launched a Cybersecurity Skilling Programme with support from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).
  3. The US state of Pennsylvania has officially recognized the Hindu festival of Diwali as a national holiday.
  4. Cricket Australia and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) have honoured Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on his 50th birthday on 24 April, 2023 and the former West Indies great Brian Lara to mark 30 years since his innings of 277 at the Sydney Cricket Ground after they named the gates of the cricket stadium after these two legends.

  12. Pankaj Singh, the BJP MLA from Noida and son of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has been elected unopposed as Cycling Federation of India (CFI) President in the Annual General Body meeting at Nainital.
  13. The 7th edition of the joint military exercise ‘AJEYA WARRIOR’ between India and the United Kingdom is being conducted from 27 April-11 May, 2023 at Salisbury Plains, United Kingdom.

  15. Dubai-based airline Emirates has unveiled the world’s first robotic check-in assistant named Sara.
  16. Kaur Singh, a legendary 1982 Asian Games gold medallist and Padma Shri awardee, passed away on 27 April 2023, in Kurukshetra, Haryana at the age of 74.
